Halk arasında “DAM” denilen bu mekan bana eski bir aile efsanemizi hatırlattı. Cinlerle evli ve iki çocuğu olduğuna inanılan akrabamızın, rivayete göre cinle evliliğini ve cinden olan çocuklarını kabul etmeyip intihar etmesi ya da ettirilmesi her zaman etkili gelmiştir bana. Buradan yola çıkarak anılarımı hazır nesneye dönüştürüp bir performans yapmaya karar verdim. İlk evliliğimi bu evde bilinçli bir şekilde, hayal ürünü olan bir cin ile gerçekleştiriyorum. Bu mekanda bırakılan gelinlik bilinçli evliliğin ya da eşin orada kalması tekrar çıkamaması, yapılan eylemin sadece tek taraflı kabulünü terse çevirme durumudur.
This place, which is colloqually called “DAM”, reminds me an old family legend of mine. That one of our relatives, who was believed to be married to a jinn and have two children, committed suicide or made to commit suicide, denying his marriage and children that they have with the jinn, has always been an influential story for me. Based upon this story, I decided to create a performance. I am consciously realising my first marriage with an imaginary jinn in this house. The wedding gown which has been left here is the case that conscious wedding’s or partner’s remaining there and not being able to leave again, reversal of the unilateral acceptance of the action.
