GYF6 sanatçısı Ali Şentürk’ün mekana has bu çalışması, aynı renk içinde gizli bir zihin modelini üç katmanla temsil ediyor. Dünyanın ikinci en yüksek dağı ve tırmanması en zor dağı olan K2’nin üç boyutlu mini modelini ise en üst katmana yerleştiriyor. Bu zorlu zirveye göz diken dağcıların tırmanma ekipmanlarını çoğunlukla Nepal ve Pakistan’da onlara rehberlik eden yerel halk taşıyor. Zirveye tırmanış sırasında kendi ekipmanları olmayan bu rehberler için tırmanış çoğunlukla ölüm ile sonuçlanıyor. Sanatçı, etkilendiği bu bilgiden hareketle oluşturduğu çalışmasında doğanın kendisiyle zirvede olmak isteyen insan doğasının hırsını üstüste getiriyor ve bir tuvalin tam ortasına yerleştiriyor. Kendi özel hazırladığı, gerilim duygusu yayan sarı renge boyanmış zirve ve tuval, asılı olduğu duvara doğru yayılarak, galeri mekanını da bu çağrışımların parçası haline getiriyor.

In his site-specific installation, Ali Şentürk from YFD 9 represents a model for consciousness hidden under the same color with three different layers. On the top layer situated is the 3D mini model of K2, the second highest mountain of the world, which is also the most difficult one to climb. The climbers, who aim for the very peak, usually hire the local guides from Nepal and Pakistan to carry their equipment. For these guides without their own safety equipment, most of the time this journey ends with death. The artist, moved by this piece of information, thus superposes nature itself with the nature of the mankind driven by the ambition to be at the very top, and places this at the very middle of his canvas. The particular shade of yellow that the artist mixed himself reflects hues of tension, pessimism and freedom. It spreads onto the wall and makes the gallery space a part of these associations.
